Lily decided back in September that she wanted to play the trumpet. In October, she received her brand new trumpet with much jubilation. She rushed home and tried to play it but things didn't quite go as planned. It was hard to buzz and make a nice sound. She doubted herself many times while practicing but she never gave up. We are very proud of her. She can really play songs and is pretty good at getting in a 20 minute practice every day.
Tonight the 5th grade beginner's band played at the upper school's winter band concert. The flutes played one song, then the clarinets, then the Saxes, and then the trumpets. The trumpets and trombones played Shoo Fly. Here is the video. Enjoy!
