Daytrip to Munzenberg

Today was Easter Monday, a holiday here. Everything in Germany is closed except restaurants and castles!! So first we visited a castle ruins in the town of Munzenberg and then ate lunch at the local Biergarten.

The castle dates to the 12th and 13th centuries and sits atop a hill in the small rural town. It is a large castle with a couple tall towers. One tower you could climb up to the top. On this day there was a medieval thing going on. They also had an egg hunt for the kids. They were real, hard boiled eggs.
